  • Professor John Borrows, Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Law at the University of Victoria Law School, British Colombia. He was hosted by the NZ Centre for Public Law. On 11 February he gave a lecture on "Learning from the land: Indigenous legal education in context".

  • Jerry L Mashaw, Sterling Professor of Law, Yale University. On 18 February gave a seminar "Reasonableness, accountability and the control of administrative policy".
  • Dr Naomi Creutzfeldt, Associate Fellow, University of Oxford. She was hosted by the NZ Centre for Public Law. On 22 February she gave a seminar entitled "Citizens' perceptions of the legitimacy of ombudsman and their decision-making".

  • Professor Mario Patrono, Sapienza University of Rome, again visited until July to teach an Honours/Master's course on European Union Law.
  • Dr Marc Moore, University of Cambridge. On 24 February he gave a seminar for NZ Centre of International Economic Law entitled "The Pre-Eminence of Securities (over Company) Law Claims in Redressing the Mismanagement of Anglo-American Listed Firms".
  • Professor Hong Jun Shan, Vice President, Dalian Maritime University, Dalian, PR China. Professor Hong Jun Shan was hosted by the NZ Centre for International Economic Law. On 25 February gave a seminar entitled "Openness and Inclusiveness: the Nature of Chinese Maritime Law.
  • Professor Henrik Ringbom, Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law, Oslo, Norway. He was hosted by the NZ Centre for International Economic Law. On 25 February gave a seminar entitled "The EU and International Maritime Law: Lessons for the Asia-Pacific Region?"

  • Gary Born, Chair of the International Arbitration Practice Group at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP. He was hosted by the NZ Centre for International Economic Law. On 2 March gave a presentation on "Investigating the costs and benefits of a proposed Bilateral Arbitration Treaty".

  • Emeritus Professor Gillian Triggs, Australian Human Rights Commission, Sir Eric Hotung Visiting Fellow 2016. On 7 April she gave a public lecture entitled "Human Rights Across the Tasman: A Widening Gulf". The event was co-hosted by the University of Canterbury.
