The Confucius Institute has successfully monitored the placement of the newly arrived Mandarin Language Assistant (MLA) HU Yufang at Tauranga Girls' College. Ms Hu will assist with the teaching of Mandarin at the Chinese Community School that offers a range of classes both for adults and children.

Ms HU is the Institute's third MLA who has been placed in regional schools committed to strengthening their Chinese Language Programme. MLA Gao Xinru is currently assisting with the Chinese Language Programme at Rotorua Boys' High School and MLA Zhang Qian is teaching Chinese in Whakatane and Opotiki.
