The CI at VUW will send a delegation of six Chinese teachers to the NZ Association of Language Teachers Conference, to be held in Rotorua in July 2012. Chen Ben (Deputy Director CI VUW), Yaru Liu (Chinese teacher CI VUW), Zhang Qian (MLA Whakatane and Opotiki), Gao Xinru (MLA Rotorua Boys’ High), Hu Yufang (MLA Tauranga Girls’ College) and Vivien Ting (Tauranga Girls’ College) will attend this conference. Theme of this year’s conference is ‘Value All Languages - Universal Education for Students’ and will include a keynote speech of Professor Bob Elliott, Director Confucius Institute, Queensland Institute of Technology, Brisbane, Australia.
