Wai-te-ata Press Shakespeare Prize

Information

This prize arises from a fund established by the Wai-te-ata Press in 1986.

The prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Head of the School of English, Film, Theatre, Media Studies, and Art History to the student whose critical and/or scholarly writing on Shakespeare's works is judged best in that year.

No student may hold the award more than once.

The value of the prize in any year shall be determined after consideration of the income from the fund. In any year, any part of the income from the fund not expended shall be added to the fund.

The donor requests the recipient use the prize money to purchase a book, or books.

Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks, which will be forwarded appropriately.

Eligibility

The prize shall be open to any student enrolled in ENGL courses numbered 200-499, or who is enrolled for a research degree in English.
