Biggs Family Prize in Poetry

This prize is sponsored by Peter and Mary Biggs via the Victoria University Foundation.
This prize is awarded to a student who completes the Masters in Creative Writing at Victoria University of Wellington and who, through their folio of work, demonstrated they showed excellent potential as a poet. The student must wish to complete a manuscript for publication.
The recipient will be chosen in early December of each year by the head of the school of the Institute of Modern Letters. A meeting/lunch will be arrange for the recipient to meet with Peter and Mary Biggs.
The recipient will be asked to write a letter of appreciation which will be forwarded to the donors.

Eligibility
The Biggs Family Prize in Poetry is awarded at the end of the Masters in Creative Writing course to enable a student to complete a manuscript for publication.
The student would not necessarily currently be the best writer of poetry on the course.
