Workforce Development Funding for Comprehensive Primary and Community Care Teams

Information about funding to support students on a Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse Prescriber pathway.

About this funding

This funding covers one 30-point course per student, for Trimester Two, 2024 only and is intended to support those nurses on a Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse Prescribing pathway.

Who can access this funding?

This primary and community care workforce development funding is only available to health workers employed in the primary and community care health workforce (i.e. employed by PHOs, GP practices, Hauora Māori and Pacific community providers, or aged care providers).

Heath New Zealand’s Hospital and Specialist Services employees are not eligible for this funding.

Enablement Funding

This funding does not cover travel, accommodation, textbooks, equipment, meals, or release time. Applicants can work with their employer to access workforce development enablement funding which has been provided at a regional level to support equity of access and to enable the primary and community care workforce to take up these opportunities.
