Languages and Law student selected for leadership conference in Prague

The International Youth Leadership Conference—Prague brings together university students from all over the world for what is described as “an open-minded exchange of diverse perspectives on contemporary global challenges and the future of world leadership.”

Jessica says the conference will be beneficial for her studies and her career. “We’ll be participating in a mock International Criminal Court pre-trial as well as a United Nations Security Council emergency meeting simulation, which will be great for my goal of working in the field of international law.”

Other conference activities include a model European Parliament proceeding and a visit to the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. Group debates and panel discussions, along with networking events attended by leading experts, diplomats, politicians and executives are also planned.

The selection process is very competitive and Jessica is excited that her application was successful. “It will be an amazing opportunity to represent New Zealand while building my leadership skills alongside other young leaders from all around the world. I'm particularly excited about the cross-cultural communication focus, as I think intercultural awareness is an essential skill for young leaders.”
