PhD Candidate in Italian Studies presents at Berkeley and Oxford
Marta Simonetti’s research examines how contemporary Italian writers incorporate art in their work. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach that ranges from epistemology and aesthetics to textual studies and translation studies, Marta reassesses the definition and application of ekphrasis in the works of, among others, Dino Buzzati and Antonio Tabucchi. After completing her full proposal, Marta received internal and external funding to present at two international conferences at the University of California, Berkeley, and at the University of Oxford.
