Professor Katherine Seley-Radtke

University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) President, International Society for Antiviral ResearchProf. Seley-Radtke specialises in the discovery and design of novel nucleoside or nucleotide-based enzyme inhibitors that may be used to treat infections or cancer. She has authored over 90 peer-reviewed publications, is an inventor of five issued US patents, and is a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Her international impact includes scientific collaborations, policy advising and diplomatic appointments in biosecurity efforts.

 

Associate Professor Rakesh Veedu

Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Science; & Centre for Molecular Medicine and Innovative Therapeutics, Murdoch University, Perth, Australia

Associate Professor Veedu is head of the Precision Nucleic Acid Therapeutics Laboratory and founder of SynGenis Ltd, custom oligonucleotide synthesis company. Research interests: Oligonucleotide synthesis chemistries and nucleic acid-based biotechnologies as potential drug therapies for a range of neurological diseases, cancers, genetic disorders and rare diseases.

Limited funding is available for travel/accommodation with preference given for post-graduate students and early-career researchers.
