    Liz Wood, longstanding colleague and friend of the former College and current Faculty of Education, passed away peacefully on 27 August 2019.

    Intern pyschologist to share insights on post-Christchurch support

    It was a ‘natural response’ for Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Psychology Practice student Areej Arif to travel to Christchurch after the 15 March attacks to offer support and psychological first aid to her Muslim community. Along with her colleagues, she has now been invited to share her experiences of providing that support at the annual New Zealand Psychologists Society (NZPsS) conference (28–30 August).

    From Hunter to Harvard: BA graduate wins full Ivy League Scholarship

    BA graduate Chantel Slade is off to Harvard in August, having been awarded the Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship. Chantel will be starting her Master’s in Human Development and Psychology at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE), with her tuition, health insurance, and living costs fully funded by the Fellowship.

    Faculty of Education graduate speaker Max Christie loves his work as an early childhood teacher, especially because it means he gets to spend his days playing. Motivated in part by seeing the work his parents were doing as owners of Childspace Early Childhood Centres in Wellington, Max considered a career in early childhood education a great path to follow.
