School of Government sponsors 'Spirit of Service Awards' for 2020

The annual celebration of outstanding public service in New Zealand has the School of Government as a proud sponsor.

The annual 'Spirit of Service' awards celebrate outstanding public sector governance, young leaders and initiatives that deliver great outcomes motivated by a spirit of service to the community. It is hosted by Te Kawa Mataaho - Public Service Commission (previously the State Services Commission).

Once again the School of Government is proud to be one of the sponsors of the awards.

At a ceremony on 9 November 2020 the Vice-Chancellor of Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington presented the Young Leader award on behalf of the School of Government. It was won by Hashmatullah Lafraie, junior counsel and specialist advisor at the Ministry of Justice and based on his cultural advice to the Court and the Ministry in the wake of the mosque attacks on 15 March 2019..

School of Government graduates have often featured as award finalists and part of the winning teams.
