Visit by German musician Hannes Wittmer aka Spaceman Spiff
Recently 200- and 300-level German students were treated to a mini concert and a Question and Answer Session with German musician Hannes Wittmer aka Spaceman Spiff. The German Programme had invited the singer songwriter, currently on holiday in New Zealand, to come and speak to their third year language students about his music and singing in German.
One of the assignments for the course, GERM 315, is a presentation about German language music. Hannes entertained the students with several of his songs, performed live on guitar, and answered questions from the students, all in German of course. Much fun was had by all.
A heartfelt Dankeschön goes out to the Goethe-Institut in Wellington and the School of Languages and Cultures for making this event possible. And of course, to Spaceman Spiff: Es war toll!
