Our approach to restorative justice

We honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi in our strong relationships with iwi and hapū and in all aspects of our work in restorative practice.

The Centre brings together a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, evaluators, scholars and practitioners, committed to working with a restorative justice lens to tackle complex, social issues in contemporary Aotearoa.

We:

• work in partnership with restorative providers and experts across Aotearoa New Zealand to support local solutions for local problems
• work closely with our seven government sponsors to contribute work that amplifies policy impact
• design restorative schemes
• develop and manage restorative practices
• monitor and evaluate restorative solutions
• share evidence, as it emerges, on ‘what works’
• foster dialogue and encourage debate through our seminar and occasional webinar series
• promote connection through developing and participating in networks that bring experts (lived and learnt) from New Zealand and across the world into conversation.
