The Library hosted an event to celebrate Te 'Epetoma o te reo Māori Kuki Airani/Cook Island Language Week in 'Wan Solwara', Kelburn Library on Tuesday 4th August 2015.

Around 60 staff, students and community members attended the event.

This year's event was particularly meaningful as it also celebrated 50 years since the Cook Islands became self-governing.

Speakers at the event included Associate Professor Hon Luamanuvao Winnie Laban, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Pasifika), Trish Wilson, Associate Director, Library Academic Services, and keynote speaker Apii Rongo-Raea.

The event also featured the Library Waiata Group, a Tupuna/speech from student Terai Rota, and a cultural performance/ura by student Tanga Morris.
