VICWIC Symposium

Join VICWIC (Victoria Women, Non-Binary, and Genderqueer in Composition) for an afternoon celebrating the music of local women, non-binary, and genderqueer artists!

From 2pm, we will be hearing from esteemed guest speakers including interdisciplinary artist and Kinds of Kings founder Gemma Peacock; jazz/art musician and saxophonist Jasmine Lovell-Smith; recording artist, composer, and taonga pūoro practitioner Mahina Kaui; composer and multi-instrumentalist Salina Fisher; and musical engineer Meg Fahey and their piano playing robot!

6pm will bring a concert of 9 diverse and exciting new student works, ranging from chamber music to live electronics, collaborations with film makers to interpretive yogis.

2-7pm July 31st, in the Adam Concert Room at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music.

All ages, genders, and backgrounds welcome, koha much appreciated.
