NZSM jazz graduate Lou’ana Whitney up for three nominations at the Pacific Music Awards

The singer songwriter is up for Best Pacific Female Artist, Best Pacific Soul/R&B Artist and Best Pacific Music Video at the Pacific Music Awards on 30 September.

The second generation Samoan-New Zealander (performing as Lou’ana) studied jazz at the Albany campus of the New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī, graduating in 2015.

After performing all around New Zealand as part of various groups and projects, including the Hipstamatics, she released her first solo material, the single Eye To Eye, in early 2019 to critical acclaim.

The Pacific Music Awards aim to celebrate Pacific artists from Aotearoa across a wide range of genres. Pacific Artists who have been celebrated by the event over the years include Aaradhna, Nesian Mystik, Te Vaka, Scribe, Tha Feelstyle, Ardijah and Dei Hamo.

Lou'ana will release her debut album later this year.
