Yen Dang

Yen Dang is a Lecturer in Language Education at the University of Leeds, U.K. She did an MA and a PhD in Applied Linguistics at the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.

Her PhD thesis was titled 'Investigating vocabulary in academic spoken English: Corpora, teachers, and learners'. She was supervised by Associate Professor Averil Coxhead and Professor Stuart Webb. Yen's thesis was awarded the prize for best PhD thesis of 2017 by the Applied Linguistics Association of New Zealand.

Yen’s research interests include vocabulary, corpus linguistics, and EAP/ESP. Her work has appeared in many journals, including Language Learning, TESOL Quarterly, Language Teaching Research, System, English for Specific Purposes, and the ELT Journal.
