Isaac Stead

Isaac Stead is a PhD candidate at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology's Department of Linguistic and Cultural Evolution in Leipzig. He received his BA and MA in Linguistics from Victoria University of Wellington. His research interests include the morphosyntactic evolution of the Austronesian language family and what this can tell us about the peopling history of Southeast Asia and Te Moana-nui-a-kiwa. He is also interested in computational methods for historical linguistics and the intersection of linguistics, archaeology and genetics.
