Mohd Asri Jusoh

I don’t know why I have been blessed by abundance of good fortune in my life. New Zealand has been amazing for me for the past four years and I was overwhelmed by its beauty, its people and its unassuming modesty. I stumbled upon finding a passion that created a seed and bloom into something so wonderful to me. I love to teach. It is a passion of mine and I would do it till my last breath. I owe a profound debt of gratitude to Victoria University The English-Speaking Union of the Commonwealth via Victoria University Foundation for the honour. Thank you to my late father for being an exemplary role model. To my beloved mother, thank you for raising me while making innumerable sacrifices and for the wise counsel every now and then. Thank you to the University, the LALS Faculty, my batchmates and friends for sharing moments of joy and for carrying me during times of adversity, and also for the numerous, lengthy, repetitive but categorical discussions we had about education. I share this award with all the aspiring educators around the world who would thought that settling for mediocrity is a good idea because it is safe. Remember, don’t do it. Take a risk, take a chance. Find that passion, rekindle it and fall in love all over again. Believe me, it’ll be worth it
