We are primarily a research institute. We are also involved in teaching, where our core contribution is a summer course on climate change and decision making. Besides this, we contribute to the course work offered by colleagues at Victoria University of Wellington.

SCIE 401: Climate Science and Decision Making What are we doing about climate change?

This course explores climate science, economic responses, and the international policy negotiations going on now in response to the world’s changing climate. This intense summer course is taught by experts in physics, economics and public policy including:

  • Professor Dave Frame, Director of New Zealand Climate Change Research Institute
  • Dr Adrian Macey, former chair of Kyoto Protocol negotiations
