Call for papers

The Centre for Accounting, Governance and Taxation Research (CAGTR) at Victoria University of Wellington, and the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants would like to invite you to the Fifth New Zealand Management Accounting (NZMA) Conference to be held on Thursday, 17 November, and Friday, 18 November 2011, in Wellington, New Zealand.

The NZMA conference aims to bring together management accounting educators, researchers and practitioners from the public and private sectors to share their perspectives and experiences of the many theoretical and practical applications in this very important discipline area. The format of the NZMA conference will include plenary presentations and concurrent paper presentations.

Papers are invited on a wide range of management accounting issues, including: performance measurement, behavioural issues, cost management systems, accounting education, sustainability, ethical issues, and in any other general area related to management accounting praxis. A key objective of the conference is to encourage knowledge transfer among academics and between academia and practitioners. Therefore, we encourage papers from practitioners that involve collaborative research as well as studies of management accounting in practice (cases or surveys).

Paper submission

All papers are to be no more than 25 pages in length (double spaced).

All papers will be subject to blind review. Please ensure that no author details are provided in your abstract. Please send your paper in either Microsoft Word or PDF file format to: Vanessa Borg, conference administrator, via email by Friday, 23 September 2011.

Acceptance of papers for presentation will be notified to authors by Monday, 17 October 2011.
