Profile

Patrick Flamm joined Victoria University of Wellington as a Lecturer in February 2019, after completing a Korea Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Political Science and International Relations programme in 2018-2019. He holds a PhD degree in Asian Studies from the University of Auckland and has studied International Relations at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany and Korea University in Seoul, South Korea. His research interests are identity and foreign policy, South Korean foreign policy, Antarctic politics as well as the Anthropocene in International Relations.

Research Projects

Patrick is currently finishing a project on the bilateral cooperation between New Zealand and South Korea with regard to Antarctic logistics, policy, and science, and he is also undertaking a research project on how to conceptualise Antarctic political order from an International Relations perspective.
