Description

New Zealand has faced a global pandemic, an economic downturn, a string of political resignations, and party leadership changes all in the lead up to the General Election.

With only weeks until New Zealanders head to the voting booth, what can we expect before October 17? How reliable are the polls? What about the Māori electorates? What impact do debates have? Our academics will share their insights, opinions, and predictions on what we could see before and after the election.

Hosted by Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, you'll hear from Dr Bryce Edwards of The Democracy Project; Professor Jack Vowles, School of History, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations; and Dr Maria Bargh from Te Kawa a Māui/School of Māori Studies.

This is an opportunity to ask the questions you want answered and get insights on the incoming government.
