Welcome Architecture students

Read a welcome message from the Architecture first year coordinator, Dr Emina Kristina Petrović.

We are delighted to welcome you into the first year in the School of Architecture, and very much look forward to teaching and guiding you on your journey to becoming flourishing built environment professionals.

In the rapidly evolving world of today, built environment disciplines offer an exciting range of options to develop positive visions and creative solutions for the future.

Our first-year curriculum is designed to stimulate you to grow and articulate your disciplinary affinities. All students (irrespective of their preferred discipline) will share the same courses in the first trimester, and most courses in the second trimester. Part of the teaching will take place at our Te Aro Campus, and part on the larger lecture theatres at Kelburn Campus – this will help you experience the dynamics of the city and the University.

Our first-year course coordinators, tutors and staff are here to help you adjust to a transition to university-studies. If you have any questions simply reach out to any of us, and we will provide the needed guidance.

I look forward to meeting you, talking to you, and seeing the great work you’ll produce.
