Watch: Derek Kawiti 3D prints a full-size Hawaiian wa'a

Derek Kawiti, Senior Lecturer at the Wellington School of Architecture, has 3D printed a full-size replica of a 230-year-old Hawaiian wa'a (outrigger canoe). Working from 3D scans provided by the Smithsonian, where the original wa'a (the oldest Hawaiian wa'a in the world) lives. Derek's groundbreaking project aims to explore what 3D-printing could mean for the future of waka carving.
