Mihi Whakatau

Mihi Whakatau

On Thursday 25 February, 12:30-1:30pm, in the Atrium at 139 Vivian Street, the Dean and staff of the Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation will host an event to formally welcome our new students & their whānau.

A mihi whakatau is similar to a pōwhiri, but less formal. Whereas pōwhiri typically happen on the marae, mihi whakatau can and do occur in other locations such as school and the workplace.

After welcome speeches from the Dean and Heads of School for the Wellington School of Architecture and School of Design Innovation, the student-side will be given the opportunity to respond.

Light refreshments will be served after the formalities where staff will also be available to chat and share their experiences.

For catering purposes, please register your attendance to ana.sozinova@vuw.ac.nz by 23rd February.
