Māori and Pasifika students

Join our Māori and Pasifika teams—enjoy some kai, and chat with current students and staff to find out about university life.

Māori students

Making sure to participate in all activities taking place throughout the whole of Open Day is key! As a Māori student, connecting with the on-campus whānau can also help prepare you for what to expect once becoming a student.

There are plenty of ways you can connect to the whānau throughout the day, so be sure to check out:

Te Kāinga

Join our Māori future student advisers and Te Herenga Waka whānau in Te Kāinga—the Māori students’ HQ:

Mihi whakatau

The mihi whakatau (official welcome) in Te Kāinga begins at 8.45 am. After that, enjoy a rolling kai, chat with current students, connect with Māori student services and we will head off to the Māori student information session in Maclaurin building.
