I am a registered clinical psychologist, having initially completed a law degree at Victoria. Following a working holiday in England, I spent many years working for a large accountancy firm before realising this was not for me, and returning to university to study psychology.
While training, I worked as a group counsellor for a stopping violence agency. I then worked in the mental health system with adults, adolescents, children, and people with substance abuse issues.
I finished my psychology training in 2003, and started working at Victoria in 2006. My counselling approach is influenced by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Process-Experiential (Emotion Focussed). As well as seeing clients individually, I run a sleep group with our psychiatrist John Gregson.
I have enormous confidence in the benefits flowing from counselling and psychotherapy, and feel privileged to be helping students to reach their goals.
