Wellington Sexual Abuse HELP

Wellington Sexual Abuse HELP provides specialised support for people affected by sexual abuse and assault.

They operate a 24-hour crisis support line and have on-site support workers.

If you find yourself needing to talk to someone, they’re there to listen and help, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

They can also arrange a specialized doctor or counselling appointments if needed.

Wellington Rape Crisis

Wellington Rape Crisis provide support and information over the phone, by email, and in person to survivors of rape and sexual abuse and to their families, friends and whānau.

This includes people who are supporting a survivor or who are affected by the rape or sexual abuse of someone they know.

They are available to work alongside you in your liaison with organisations such as the Police, ACC, WINZ, the courts, and medical professionals.

Safe To Talk

Safe To Talk is a 24/7 phone and web-based service if you need to speak to a trained specialist at any time about medical, emotional, and behavioural issues related to harmful experiences.

They can speak to you in over 40 different languages (ask about the language line when you call).

ACC Find Support

ACC's Find Support programme helps you access ACC-funded support following sexual abuse or assault, in your time, on your terms.

The Student Interest and Conflict Resolution team has worked with ACC to provide a specialist sexual assault counsellor on campus, to ensure a holistic response to survivors/victims.

Hutt Valley Sexual Abuse Support and Healing

Hutt Valley Sexual Abuse Support and Healing provides a free service to all women, men and children affected by sexual abuse and rape, recent or historic.

The Road Forward—Te Ara Whai Ora I Te Tangata Ki Mua

Empowering survivors of sexual harm in the Wellington region, The Road Forward is a registered charity providing peer support to adult survivors of sexual harm and their families/whānau with offices in Wellington City, Hutt Valley, and Paraparaumu. They provide free, confidential one to one support, weekly peer support groups, advocacy, and support when dealing with other agencies or Government departments.

Mauri Ora—Student Health and Counselling

Mauri Ora—Student Health and Counselling provides health care and counselling support for students who are victims of sexual harm. Clinics are based on the Kelburn and Pipitea campuses.

Mauri Ora is not a specialist service, but can support you to link in with specialist counselling as needed.
