When and where to collect and return academic dress

Find out where and when you can pick up your academic dress. This may depend on the date of the graduation ceremony you’re attending.

Pick up and drop off your robe, hood, and cap at the times shown below. The dates and times you can pick up and drop off your academic dress will depend on the date of your graduation ceremony.

Collecting academic dress

Academic dress for graduation ceremonies can be collected from the Ground Floor, Murphy Building, Kelburn Parade. Bring your academic dress receipt or student ID card when collecting.

Remember, for Michael Fowler Centre ceremonies you need to be at the venue 45 minutes prior to the ceremony start time, in your academic dress.

Returning academic dress

If you’re attending a ceremony on the 16 or 17 May, we ask that you return your academic address immediately after the ceremony at MFC. More details are provided below.

When you return your academic dress, be sure to bring your receipt.

Michael Fowler Centre (MFC) ceremonies

For students attending the parade and ceremonies on Tuesday 16 May

Collect academic dress on one of these days and times:

  • 12pm midday – 5pm, Friday 12 May
  • 10am – 2pm, Saturday 13 May
  • 9am – 6pm, Monday  15 May
  • 9am – 5.30pm , Tuesday 16 May

Return academic dress immediately after your ceremony at MFC.

For students attending the parade on Tuesday 16 May and the ceremony at 2pm on Wednesday 17 May

Collect academic dress on one of these days and times:

  • 12pm midday – 5pm, Friday 12 May
  • 10am – 2pm, Saturday 13 May
  • 9am – 6pm, Monday 15 May
  • 9am – 8pm, Tuesday 16 May
  • 9am – 1pm, Wednesday 17 May

Return academic dress immediately after your ceremony at MFC.

For students attending the parade on Thursday 18 May and the ceremony at 6.30pm on Wednesday 17 May

Collect academic dress on one of these days and times:

  • 2pm – 8pm, Tuesday 16 May
  • 9am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 17 May

Return academic dress, either:

  • immediately after your ceremony at MFC
  • to MFC after the parade on Thursday 18 May
  • to Ground Floor Murphy building on one of these days and times:
    • 9am – 5pm, Thursday 18 May
    • 9am – 5pm, Friday 19 May.

For students attending the parade and ceremonies on Thursday 18 May

Collect academic dress on one of these days and times:

  • 2pm – 8pm, Wednesday 17 May
  • 9pm – 5.30pm, Thursday 18 May

Return academic address, either:

  • immediately after your ceremony at MFC
  • to Ground Floor Murphy building on one of these days and times:

Graduation at Te Hui Whakapumau, The Hub, 9.30am Friday 19 May
