The workload at university can be challenging, particularly in busy times when assignments and tests are on. It's easy to fall into the tunnel vision trap, where you focus on your uni work at the expense of your health and wellbeing.

A sense of accomplishment in your uni work is great for your wellbeing, however, not when it comes at the expense of other aspects of your health. Constantly prioritising your health and wellbeing supports your learning and makes your time at university more enjoyable.

Some simple strategies to support your mind, body, and learning:

  • Prioritise your sleep.
  • Have a consistent routine.
  • Eat a balanced breakfast.
  • Be mindful of relying on sugar or caffeine for energy.
  • Find exercise you enjoy.
  • Connect with friends and whānau.
  • Make time for things you enjoy doing.
