Smoking

Smoking is a leading cause of death in New Zealand, as well as having serious effects on your everyday health and quality of life.

Smokers who do not quit have a 1 in 2 chance of dying from a smoking-related illness—most commonly lung cancer and other lung disease such as emphysema, heart disease and stroke .

Student Health supports all students trying to quit. Make a 30 minute appointment with a nurse (free for registered patients) to seek help and advice on quitting.
