Appointments during COVID-19

What to do if you test positive for COVID-19 and what you need to know if you're coming in to see us.

If you test positive or are in isolation

Under the government's updated guidance, it is recommended you isolate for at least five days, even if you only have mild symptoms, starting at Day 0. This includes if you have had COVID-19 before.

Your Household Contacts do not need to isolate.

If you are a Household Contact of someone who has COVID-19, we recommend you do a self-administered rapid antigen test (RAT) each day for five days.

If you test positive via a RAT, it is important you record this result on your My Covid Record. Find out more about Rapid Antigen Testing.

Some tips if you need to come in

  • Tell us if you have a cough, runny/blocked nose, sore throat, fever, or are newly breathless. If you have any of these symptoms, do not come to Mauri Ora without phoning first.
  • If you have respiratory symptoms, we request that you wear a medical grade mask within Mauri Ora as per government guidelines. If you have a mask exemption, or unable to wear a mask for your appointment for whatever reason, call us on 04 463 5308 in advance and let us know.
  • Virtual consultations services (e.g. phone, video) will continue to be provided.
  • From Monday 25 September our COVID 19 Cabins (in the carpark) will be removed in accordance with MOH guidelines. Respiratory patients will be seen inside at Mauri Ora and mask wearing will be advised.

We understand that this continues to be a worrying time for all students, particularly those with high health needs. Contact us if you have any concerns about your health or wellbeing—call 04 463 5308.
