Ideally apply by December 1st for exchange during VUW's Trimester 2 or Trimester 1 the following year to secure courses for your exchange period. However, students can apply at both deadlines.
Law students have the opportunity to study at Queen's UK campus, Bader International Study Centre (BISC). Please note that there would be an additional fee of approximately $14,500-15,000CAD for VUW students in additional the VUW tuition fees. This fee cannot go on Study Loan. The fee includes the following:
•Room and board: shared accommodation (2 students per room) and full meal plan
•Field studies trips: transportation, entrance fees and packed lunches, as well as accommodation and breakfast on overnight excursions
•Access to BISC facilities and services, including computing rooms, a library, and a fully equipped gym
•Regular trips to (and borrowing privileges at) the libraries at the University of Sussex
•Frequent banking/shopping trips to nearby towns
•Transfers to and from Heathrow airport on designated dates

Course load
Arts and Sciences
Exchange students are recommended to take a minimum of 12.0 units and a maximum of 15.0
units per term; 24.0 to maximum of 30.0 units for the full year. Please note that 12-15 units
typically represent 4-5 courses per semester. Full-year students take a maximum of 15.0 units
per semester. This exchange agreement is with the Queens Faculty of Arts & Science. Therefore students should seek out courses within the Arts, Social Sciences, Natural and Physical Sciences, and the Humanities when selecting courses. Students who are accepted to study in the Faculty of Arts and Science are required to carry the majority of their courses within the faculty.
Law
Exchange students take JD upper-year courses. The normal course load for Queen's Law students is 14 to 17 credits per term. In addition to scheduled courses, it is sometimes possible to do an Independent Study Project with one of Queen's University's full-time faculty members.
Exchange restrictions
Psychology courses may be limited.
