Cal West offers 3 four month sessions each calendar year. Spring (January-April), Summer (May – August) and Fall (August – September) are all equal trimesters. A full range of classes year round. However, not all electives will be offered in every trimester. On their website, the course offerings will indicate how often classes are taught (once, twice or three times per year) and in which trimester(s) they are likely to be taught. And, the course offerings in the summer may be a little lighter than Fall and Spring.

VUW students can apply for any of the three trimesters.

Course load

One 3 unit course = 1 VUW elective. Students will need to take two 2 unit courses for 1 VUW elective. One 3 unit course = 1 VUW elective

Students classified in the full-time division are required to take 10-17 units per semester.
