Adjunct and visiting positions
There are a number of visiting and adjunct positions within the Brian Picot Chair in Ethical Leadership.
Professor Alan Lawton: Visiting Professor
Professor Alan Lawton has a background in politics, philosophy and management and has held professorial positions in the UK, Australia and the Netherlands. He has 40 years of experience as a university academic and has been teaching Masters level students, primarily MBAs, for over 30 years. He has produced over 150 scholarly outputs, including nine books, primarily in the fields of public sector management and organisational ethics. He has published articles in leading journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Public Administration Review and Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory. He has delivered a range of management development courses to public and private sector organisations on strategic management, leadership, performance management, ethical culture and public sector reform. Alan also has extensive experience of working with organisations to develop their ethical cultures and has advised governments and NGOs on codes of conduct and integrity systems notably in Lithuania, Bulgaria and Ethiopia. He is keen to share his experiences and expertise.
During 2018 and 2019 Professor Alan Lawton will work alongside Professor Lasthuizen to write scripts and present material for a Massive Open Online Course about ethical leadership, due to be launched during 2019. He will also publish academic papers.
Heidi Börner: Adjunct Research Fellow
She is a co-creator of Orange Umbrella® tools which help employers diagnose and quantify the hidden risks in their organisation so they can proactively manage health and safety outcomes.
She coaches and mentors employers to proactively evaluate and reduce their health and safety system risks using the Orange Umbrella® tools.
During 2019 she will be working with Professor Lasthuizen to write and present papers relating to healthy and safe workplaces.
James Bushell: Adjunct Research Fellow
James is an advisory board member for the Brian Picot Chair in Ethical Leadership. During 2019 he will also work with Professor Lasthuzen to create a corporate integrity booklet.
