Professor Evan Berman, a researcher and lecturer at the School of Government, won the Award of Distinction in Public Administration and Governance in November at the 2017 Philippine Society for Public Administration (PSPA) International Conference.

Professor Berman was given this award in recognition of his accomplishments in advancing the study and practice of public administration in the Philippines and wider region, and was described as a "beacon of scholarship".

During the conference Professor Berman also gave a keynote speech on 'Innovations in public sector reforms in Asia', turning to Seoul, Indonesia, Taiwan and New Zealand as examples.

Professor Berman’s PSPA award follows his Distinguished Research Award in September, awarded by the Networks of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration, for his work on capacity for performance management.
