Profile

Lynne analysed the 2019 novel L’architettrice, a fictionalised “autobiography” of the 17th century painter and architect Plautilla Bricci by the contemporary Italian author Melania Mazzucco. Mazzucco’s employment of the genre of the historical novel to explore both Italian history and contemporary issues facing Italian women was discussed.

Following a career in policy analysis in both the New Zealand and Queensland (Australia) public services, Lynne returned to New Zealand and began studying Italian at Victoria University of Wellington in 2017. She completed her MA in Italian in 2022.
