For a few years now, His Excellency Mr Fausto Lopez Crozet, Ambassador to Argentina, and his team have been awarding an annual prize to the top students in 200 and 300-level courses. This is to recognise the study of Spanish in general, and Argentine literature and popular culture in particular. While the selection process is based on the grades the candidates have achieved for language and content courses at 200 and 300 level, the prize also acknowledges students’ overall performance in the last two years of their major.

The following students have been distinguished this year: Victoria Beck, Josie Carson (in absentia), Alex Clark (in absentia), Rose Coppelmans, Ursula Featherston, and Maëlle Thevenon (in absentia).
