On Thursday, 6 June, Va’aomanū Pasifika celebrated “The Pacific Heritage” at Akamai XIX, the creative and performance-based assessment option for students in PASI 101. It was a beautiful evening of dance, poetry, song, film, fashion, art, and activism. Each item showcased the students’ deep thinking, hard work, and passion for their cultural and intellectual heritages and for the Pacific. The students demonstrated their learning before a loving and supportive audience of fellow students, family members, PASI alumni, VUW staff, and friends. It was a powerful evening, one that left everyone inspired to do more and to be more for our sea of islands.
