Research interests

IS/IT management, information security management, IT project management, agile project management, design science research

Andreas’ research focuses on understanding the current and enhancing the future IS/IT management, information security management, and IT project management practices in organisations - with a particular emphasis on small and medium-sized organisations. To achieve these objectives, he conducts theory-building as well as design science research. Through reflection upon his applied design science projects, he further strives to improve the conceptual and methodological design science research foundations. A special interest in this context are the challenges and paradoxes of designing and transforming social systems that occur when common engineering-oriented design science approaches encounter organizational and environmental phenomena such as dynamics and emergence.

Andreas is a Business Information Systems graduate from the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) in Germany and holds a doctorate degree from the same university. Before joining Victoria, he has worked as a researcher at the UDE’s Institute of Computer Science and Business Information Systems and has also been a Visiting Scholar in the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida in the United States. His previous industry experience consists of several years in software development and software project management.
