Research Interests

I am an urban geographer with research interests in human-environment interactions and modelling of urban forms, residential location choice and their impacts on transport, the environment and urban wellbeing. I primarily use quantitative geographical methods to explore complex interrelations between the built and natural environment, and between people and place.

Areas of particular interest are:

  • Spatial analysis and urban modelling
  • Modelling and characterization of urban morphologies
  • Feedback effects between residential location choice, urban form and traffic-induced air pollution
  • Urban wellbeing with a focus on the environmental and health perspective
  • Decision-support tools for urban planning
  • Quantification of ecosystem services from urban green spaces
  • Integrated land use and transport modelling
