This award was established in 2018 by the New Zealand School of Music for a student who is in need of an instrument and who shows promise for a professional career in cello. The recipient and cello will be featured annually in a public concert.

This Award was established in 2018 by the New Zealand School of Music to assist a gifted cellist studying at the New Zealand School of Music who is in need of an instrument and who shows promise for a professional career in cello. The recipient and cello will be featured annually in a public concert.

  1. The award comprises the use of an excellent Luis and Clark carbon fibre cello and funds to the value of $1,000.
  2. The award is open to performance cello students at any level.
  3. The determination will be made through the end of year recital and/or audition.
  4. The award is tenable for a period of one year of study at the New Zealand School of Music, commencing in the year following the award.
  5. The award is renewable.
