Jenny Whitmarsh Award for Mathematics
$200 (subject to available funds)
No application required
This prize is awarded to the best female student completing 45 points of 200-level mathematics and proceeding to 300-level mathematics.
This award was set up via the Victoria University Foundation by the family and friends of Jenny Whitmarsh (1946-19960), a graduate in mathematics and linguistics, in recognition of her desire to encourage the careers of young women in mathematics and science.
The prize is awarded annually to a student completing at least 45 points of 200-level mathematics who is considered, by Head of the School, to be the best female student of the year and who is continuing on to the study of 300-level mathematics.
The value of the prize is determined each year by the Victoria University Foundation after consideration of the income from the capital fund. The value of the award is subject to funds available.
Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks, which will be forwarded appropriately.
