Students must have completed 300-level Physics, and enrol the following year for an Honours degree in Physics.
Information
The prize was established in memory of D C H Florance, Professor of Physics 1923-51. It arises from a gift to the University in 1976 by his widow, Mrs Bertha Florance, for the establishment of an annual prize in advanced physics.
The prize is awarded annually to a student enrolled in a course for an Honours degree in Physics at VUW, who had the best achievement in work at the 300-level in Physics at VUW in the previous year.
The donor requests the recipient spend part of the prize money on a book, or books.
Recipients will be asked to write a letter of thanks, which will be forwarded appropriately.
