Eligibility

These annual prizes are awarded to both the undergraduate and the postgraduate student judged to be most worthy of the award who has completed an essay or a thesis on an aspect of Asian government, politics, or international relations.

Information

These prizes were established in 1998 by the Asia 2000 Foundation of New Zealand and have been continued with the financial support of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre via the Victoria University Foundation.

Each prize is awarded on the recommendation of the head of the School of History, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations in consultation with the academic staff and the head of programme in Political Science and International Relations.

The names of the students awarded the prizes shall be inscribed on the Honours Board at the premises of the School of History, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations.

Each recipient will be asked to write a letter of appreciation, which will be forwarded to the donor.
