Policy Evolution at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand
This research examines changes in policymaking at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand in the wake of the Global Financial Crisis. Central banks were instrumental both in containing the Global Financial Crisis and in the recovery efforts that followed. Central banks continue to face significant policy challenges today, with economic growth in many advanced economies reliant on low interest rates and increased credit consumption. This research examines how these challenges are framed and discussed in the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and what the implications of this are for New Zealand society.
