Research Centre & Professorial Chair

The School of Accounting and Commercial Law is home to the Centre for Accounting, Governance and Taxation Research, and the Chair in Public Finance.

Centre for Accounting, Governance and Taxation Research

The Centre for Accounting, Governance and Taxation Research (CAGTR) was established within the School of Accounting and Commercial Law to advance and apply knowledge germane to the accounting and legal professions, commerce and industry and the public sector.

It brings researchers together with members of the accounting and legal professions, and representatives of commerce, industry and the public sector, in ongoing discussion and exploration of issues, ideas and analysis of relevant work.

Chair in Public Finance

The Chair in Public Finance (CPF) was established to build up expertise in the area of public finance (broadly defined) and to promote research, debate, policy analysis and advice on public finance matters.

A key role of the Chair is to strengthen collaboration between the University and the public and private sectors on research and policy issues in public finance.
