The University’s commitment to accessibility
Victoria University of Wellington is committed to making its home web site accessible according to the standards set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). As we make improvements to our site, we endeavour to ensure that such improvements conform to these accessibility standards.
Contacting us about website accessibility
The University welcomes comments about how to improve the accessibility of the home site for users with disabilities. If you use assistive technology and the format of any material on the home site interferes with your ability to access information, please contact content-manager@vuw.ac.nz, or use the “Request a Change” link at the bottom of this page. Please indicate what problem you have had or changes you would like to see, the web address (URL) of the page(s) which caused problems, and what assistive technology you were using at the time you had the problem.
Access keys used on the home website
These keys allow you to navigate to frequently-used parts of the site without using your mouse.

Using access keys on Windows computers
On machines running Internet Explorer, press the “Alt” key in addition to the access key to place focus on the element, then press Enter to activate.
On machines running Netscape, or Mozilla, press the “Alt” key in addition to the access key.
On machines running Firefox, press the “Shift” and “Alt” key in addition to the access key.
Using access keys on Mac computers
Press the “Ctrl” key in addition to the access key.
Resizing text on the site
The home site now allows you to display text at the size you prefer. How to do this varies from browser to browser. In Internet Explorer 5+ on the PC, and a number of other common browsers, you can do this by going to the View menu, selecting “Text Size”, and then choosing the text size you prefer. Other browsers have similar, but not identical, commands, such as “Text Zoom”.
