The ICTM Oceania Study Group will hold its 10th Symposium, “Connecting Oceania through Music and Dance”, from 9-12 April online (Hawai'i Standard Time).

Hosted online by East-West Center (Honolulu), in cooperation with The New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī, Te Herenga Waka, Victoria University of Wellington, and the Ethnomusicology Programme and Music Department, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, the conference includes presentations from across the Pacific region (Tuvalu, French Polynesia, Palau, American Samoa, Papua New Guinea, Hawai'i, Guam, Solomon Islands, Aotearoa, Australia, and Taiwan) and Globally. Two roundtable sessions will address Community and COVID-19, and Asia Pacific connections. Day 4 of the event, a Book Launch, will celebrate the work of Adrienne Kaeppler (Curator of Oceania, Smithsonian) and will include performances from Hawaiʻi and from Tonga, organized by HMQ Nanasipauʻu Tukuʻaho.
